We want to get to know you

It’s important to let us be a part of the whole process with you. If we don’t know you already, we would love to have an informal meeting prior to the shoot to discuss your expectations and your vision. We want to get excited with you and help plan your vision to make your dream come to life through photos. When we know what you are wearing and understand the feel you are going for (casual, fun, formal, etc.), it will make the picture come together beautifully.

Engagement Shoots

Our engagement shoots are a complimentary 2 hour Photoshoot located on the Sunshine Coast or Sunshine Coast Hinterland or Brisbane Complimentary. Natural light portraits

Natural light portraits can be taken in any location from the beach, to mountains, to parks, to your own home. We are happy to work with you to take your portraits in your favourite location to express your personality through photos. Click for More Portraits Collection

What to wear

Below are a few suggestions on what to wear and bring with you to get the most out of your shoot. If you are intending to place a photo on your wall, pick colours that complement your home decor.

Out are the days of wearing black and khaki, white and jeans, or matching polos. These days photography is taking on more of a candid, editorial style and you can get fun with your clothing! The goal is to have everyone complement each other. Try to avoid big logos on t-shirts, but don’t be afraid of colours or patterns. Pregnancy

We usually suggest either black pants and a black bra or white pants and a white bra. Jeans also work well but they should be the normal type so the buttons can be left undone. If your partner and other family members are going to be in the photos, they too should wear similar colours or ones that complement each other. A simple black or white shirt with jeans works well.

A flowing dress that shows off your curves can also be nice, but just make sure it has no loud patterns and logos – as these can be distracting to the eye.

Newborn

We do have some hats and props available for baby to look gorgeous in. However, if you have something special that you would like to bring in as a prop, you are more than welcome. If you can, try to time it so your baby is due for a feed when you arrive at the studio, as this will make it a little easier to pop them straight off to sleep for some cute sleeping pics to be taken. There will be time to feed baby in your leisure if they need it (we encourage a stress-free environment). We would recommend that parents dress lightly, as the studio will be well heated for the baby’s comfort. Click for More Bumps & Babies Collection

Family and Couples

Similar colours or ones that complement each other are best. Just make sure there are no loud patterns and logos as these can be distracting to the eye. A simple black or white shirt with jeans works well if you are unsure of what to wear. Don’t wear very small stripes as they can make the photo quite hard to look at. Have a Wild Card

You may decide to have a person as the stand-out “wild card”. For example, perhaps your grandmother can wear a colour that everyone else wears as an accent. This colour can be added into jewellery, shoes, undershirts, scarf, tights and hair bows. It adds a bit of flair to make for a fun, sassy picture. It also mixes things up and can pull an entire look together.

Cake Smash

Cake Smashes are all about getting messy, so make sure you bring a second set of clothes for your child to change into once the shoot is finished. We recommend cute little dresses or a skirt, and a long beaded necklace for girls (we do supply a necklace). Boys look great in denim shorts and a baby tie or a cute little shirt. (Again remember to avoid loud patterns or logos.) We will supply a basic cream covered cake for the shoot but you are welcome to organise your own if you are looking for something a bit more special.
